Module Aims

To apply creative approaches to learning and further develop knowledge on child development.

To extend and consolidate knowledge and understanding of how to plan for authentic and creative learning experiences.

To explore learning through play in an outdoor environment and how this benefits and supports children and young people’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.

To further develop communication skills through synthesis of previous skills and knowledge in a range of creative approaches.

Content Summary

For example:

Sessions will provide opportunities to explore the importance of physical development and how this links to cognitive, social and emotional development and how positive relationships and resilience are important.

Sessions will provide opportunities to evaluate theories of outdoor experiences and how learning relates to physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.

Raising aspiration through creative approaches.

Content encourages students to implement communication and collaborative skills to find solutions to problems.

Explore the themes of:

  • Role of the Arts
  • Social Inclusion
  • Arising achievement
  • Exploration of leadership
  • Place of partnerships

Sessions will explore the importance of creativity within education and cover the following key aspects::

  • Questioning and challenging
  • Making connections, seeing relationships
  • Envisaging what might be
  • Exploring ideas, keeping options open
  • Reflecting critically on ideas, actions, outcomes
