Module Aims

Immersive Learning Module

To enable students to gain a critical understanding of national and international education policy concerning sustainability and citizenship, and its impact on education and society.

To develop and apply theoretical knowledge concerning aspects of sustainability and citizenship for practical use in a variety of learning environments.

To promote 21st century skills linked to employability e.g. communication, creativity and critical thinking.

Content Summary

For example:

Sessions will enable students to implement current policy and thinking on sustainable development and citizenship.

Sessions will encourage students to undertake analysis of the benefits of ESDGC policy and exploration of how the themes are developed within an educational setting.

Key themes to be explored will enable students to discuss key causes of poverty and deprivation in Wales and internationally.

Sessions will promote discussion of how key legislation impacts on society e.g. the Equality Act (2010) and the Well-being of Future Generations Act (2015).

Sxplore the ways in which children and young people gain understanding of sustainability and citizenship.
