Module Aims

To interpret, critically analyse and apply the nature and effects of complex legislation in the context of police practice and procedures; and enhance knowledge, confidence and competency in the application of complex law involved in personal development and progression within policing.

Examination of specific offences and legislation associated with typical policing incidents such as, but not limited to:

  • Offences Against the Person Act 1861 (Including; Assault, ABH,GBH)
  • Misuse of Drugs Act 1971
  • Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) 1984
  • Public Order Act 1986
  • Offensive Weapons Act 1996
  • Firearms
  • Misuse of Drugs Act
