Module Aims
Overall, this module aims to support students in developing the skills, knowledge and competencies required to manage people in a contemporary, global context.
The module also contributes to the understanding of a fundamental management competencies required to manage people effectively. In addition the educational experience may explore, develop, and practice the following:
- The ability to make informed decisions about their immediate future, whether a third year work placement or entering post-graduation employment or further study.
- The ability to recognize and articulate their skills, qualities and attributes (for example, in a high quality graduate CV or interviews) in a way which is meaningful to employers.
- Enable the students to identify people management skills which are a particular area of strength and any opportunities for development.
Content Summary
Through this module students will gain practical experience in a variety of areas within the HR remit. Students will be required to participate in various roleplays and simulations so they can gain experience of using theoretical knowledge in action, through the viewpoint of a manager within an organisation.
