Module Aims

This module aims to provide students with a substantial workplace experience, in an environment where they can explore their required professional skills and behaviours.

Through an intensive 10-week placement, students will develop their employability skills within their area of study.

Content Summary

The module will begin with an induction programme which addresses many of the key aspects of the placement and the assessment requirements.

Students will undertake a 10 week placement within an organisation or a 10 week engagement with an organisation through the South Wales Business School’s Business Clinic. Students will use this experience to reflect upon their own development in relation to the Chartered Management Institutes Professional Skills and Behaviours (as outlined in their 21st Century Leaders report, February 2018).

As part of this module and BS2SX5 Employment Experience 2: Project, students will spend approximately 200 hours on placement or in the Business Clinic. To recognise this activity, the summative assessment is lower than maximum guideline outlined in the USW Assessment Tariff.
