Module Aims

This module aims to provide students with a substantial workplace experience, in an environment where they can explore the links between their academic studies and a work based problem or situation.

Through an intensive 10-week placement, students will develop and promote their own investigation into a workplace situation, providing recommendations for the employer.

Content Summary

The module will begin with an induction programme which addresses many of the key aspects of the placement and the assessment requirements.

Through a 10 week placement within an organisation or a 10 week engagement with an organisation through the South Wales Business School’s Business Clinic, students will identify themes from their existing degree studies and apply them to a work based problem or situation.

As part of this module and BS2Sx1 Employment Experience 1: Reflection, students will spend approximately 200 hours on placement or in the Business Clinic. To recognise this activity, the summative assessment is lower than maximum guideline outlined in the USW Assessment Tariff.
