Module Aims

To enable the student to create, plan and develop project proposals for collaboration and personal projects.

To develop an appreciation of logistical and budgetary limitations with an appreciation of the legal aspects of copyright protected material.

To develop an appreciation of the independent and commercial animation and games market places, and their work within this context.

To enable the student to self evaluate and reflect critically, in written form, on their proposed production work, situating their practice within the traditions of their chosen medium.

Content Summary

The final year project affords the student the opportunity to produce an appropriate body of work within their chosen specialist area: animated film, showreel, art or animation projects.

As part of the project development module all students will undertake the following, to be submitted as a Production Folder:

Idea development, research including appreciation of genre, industry and audience expectations.

Planning of a production schedule for full duration of the project.

Research, Development, Detailing and Finalising of pre-production for individual assets within production.

Compilation of associated Production Folder.

# Learning Outcome
LO1 Assemble ideas, concepts, proposals & solutions independently and/or collaboratively as in response to set briefs to produce pre-production documentation required to inform the production of an animated sequence or set of 3D CG Art assets for a Final Major Project.
LO2 Identify and appraise the key production process and professional practices relevant to the computer animation industry specifically the processes linking pre-production, production, and delivery of computer generated assets.
