Module Aims

To enable the student to develop professional generic and subject skills through experience in the workplace.

To enable the student to critically evaluate practice in the workplace and reflect upon their own learning in that context.

Content Summary

Students engage in a minimum of 150 hours of work experience during this module; this can be made up of placements in more than one organisation. The nature and suitability of the work experience will be approved by the module leader prior to commencement.

Tutors will offer advice to students regarding preparing and identifying suitable placement opportunities. Tutors will approve the placements before they can commence.

The module leader and/or module staff will monitor the student’s progress during their placement through online contact and visits when appropriate.

The presentation element of assessment allows further learning through discussion and feedback on the participants’ experiences.

This is an optional module that replaces Collaborative Practice: Live Briefs if chosen.
