Module Aims

To develop and apply skills in text-based journalism for news, features, magazines and the web. To further enable students to reflect critically on their practice.

Content Summary

Features story finding and construction: developing ideas for comment and feature pieces; critically examining examples of different writing styles including long form; researching; writing and editing. Production methods for print journalism in including: design; image sourcing and handling; sourcing and using PR and other free content; headlining; use of colours; typography; and final editing.
