Content Summary
This module falls into three parts which overlap in delivering skills and knowledge for telling stories in a digital, social and mobile environment characterised by resource-light, user-friendly and fast-changing technology.
Students will learn how to find and curate stories using social media and online data (as well as traditional means).
They will produce content for an online showcase using established and emerging apps and tools relating to – for example - AV recording, infographics, mapping, slideshows, live blogging, verification, SEO and analytics.
There will also be contextual lectures and reading to help integrate and interrogate the application of these practical skills with developments and debates in and around the media industries.
