Module Aims

This module aims to build on the essential skills developed in the first year to allow students to produce multi-media news to a professional level. It will also allow students to consider their learning in a professional, reflective and reflexive way.

The module will be formed entirely of newsdays and the preparation required for the newsdays. Students will learn the production and reporting skills to produce TV and radio news bulletins and programmes as well as news stories and videos for online and social media platforms. The students will be placed on a rota for newsdays working full 8-hour days to fulfil the number of hours required by the module and the newsday requirement of the BJTC (Broadcast Journalism Training Council) (15 days). Lecturers will provide robust and constant feedback throughout the project. Gaps in knowledge will be filled by workshop sessions during the period of the module.
