Module Aims

The module aims to:

To afford the student experiential insight into a modern operational journalism related organisation

To enable the student to critically evaluate practice in the workplace and reflect upon their own learning in that context

Content Summary

The module will introduce and discuss a number of key skills and expectations that would be expected of them within the workplace. This would include basic skills from a journalistic perspective through to softer skills and workplace etiquette.

How to find an opportunity and also how to best present their abilities will also be covered, to include CV’s, show reels, portfolio sites etc.

The student will also be expected to evaluate their skills both before and after the placement, providing an opportunity to identify they place within the industry and any training/developmental needs that have been identified through this process.
