Module Aims

This module aims to provide students with a substantial workplace experience, in an environment where they can explore their current levels of competence in regards of the required professional skills and behaviours identified within the new CIPD professional standards.

Content Summary

Working hand in hand with businesses the module will increase opportunities for graduate work placements, develop a curriculum that is employer-approved and embeds employability skills into its very core.

Through a 10 week placement within an organisation or a 10 week engagement with an organisation through the South Wales Business School Business Clinic, students will reflect upon their experience based their own development related to the core behaviours and skills outlined in the new CIPD professional standards (December 2018)

Between this module and HR2SX4 Developing Professional HR Practice students will spend at least 200 hours engagement in business. The tariff of assessment is lower than the USW Assessment Tariff to give recognition to students of the 200 hours they will spend in the workplace or engaged with a business.
