Module Aims

To enable exploration of a specialist areas in theatre, drama, and/or performance.

To develop students’ creative proficiency and textual and critical analysis skills in the area studied.

Content Summary

This module offers a range of exploratory drama, theatre and performance options, from which students choose one. The areas of study offered will change on an annual basis. Within each of these self-contained options, languages of performance are explored through creative, critical practice as appropriate to the subject. Every effort is made to allow students to take the option of their choice. However, entry is subject to module coordinator approval and course/administrative considerations. The University reserves the right to change the number of options offered, depending on numbers, student interest, external partnerships or other pedagogical needs. Summative assessment is through a drama portfolio containing activities befitting the area of study and set out in the assessment brief. Portfolios may be entirely written, or consist of both practical and written tasks.
