Module Aims

The module is designed to:

  • provide for a detailed knowledge of private law contractual principles relating to formation, content and discharge.
  • provide for a critical consideration of the nature and adequacy of rules relating to formation, content and discharge within a broad context of commercial relationships.
  • provide for a critical exploration of the rules, domestic and international, having direct and indirect effect on contractual private law relationships.

Content Summary

  • Detailed consideration of the theoretical bases of the law of contracts and rules relating to contract formation as a matter of private law commercial regulation.
  • Detailed consideration of the rules, common law, statutory, domestic and European relating to the regulation of content of the respective obligations arising out of contract formation.
  • Detailed consideration of the rules and remedies pertaining to discharge and breach of contracts.
