Module Aims

Enhancing Academic Success supports and compliments subject discipline from an academic context to enable and empower undergraduate business students.

The module evaluates and critiques students’ competencies and further builds on the development of employability skills and professional practice to enhance their future career prospects.

Content Summary

The module will develop student understanding of employability in a business context, with specific reference to the student’s degree subject and/or future career aspirations.
Indicative content includes:
• Career planning.
• USW Careers support as a USW student and after your gradate.
• Future opportunities for masters’ study.
• Continuing with professional body memberships.
• Understanding employer expectations of graduates.
• Awareness of the graduate attributes for Business and Management and other related industry sectors (such as Marketing, Events, Human Resource Management, Logistics Procurement and Supply Chains.
• Finding and applying for graduate opportunities.
• Using LinkedIn to enhance your networks, raise your profile and source opportunities.
• Building on knowledge and skills from CAS002 around the preparing for employment and the graduate recruitment process.
• Wellbeing and mindfulness to support you during your final year.
