Module Aims
The module aims to develop an awareness of specific demands of the modern-day coach, provide a foundation to inform a cohesive coaching philosophy for application, and to understand the importance of supporting the development of players aged U12-U16 in the student’s coaching context.
Content Summary
The module will focus on the demands of an on the modern football coach which have become more complex as the global game and the profession of coaching has evolved. Students will develop an awareness of demands of them as modern coaches that impact upon areas as diverse as average tenure, club identity, increased expectations of players from multiple stakeholders at critical maturational stages, etc. and learn about strategies and organization of available resources which can provide efficient preparation and/or responses for demands.
