Module Aims
Provide opportunity to learn valuable employability skills and generate professional and promotional outcomes.
Enable the student to focus on career aspirations and consolidate illustration practice from across the programme.
Encourage independent learning, thinking and engagement with the personal and professional development planning process, including time management, critical reflection, and self-marketing.
Content Summary
This module will highlight the importance of professional skills and self-promotional activities where students will be encouraged to focus their creative practice and explore career options.
This module will provide an opportunity for students to clearly demonstrate the culmination of the skills, knowledge and understanding of their illustration practice gained during the programme through an appropriate presentation of their creative portfolio. The presentation of work should be produced to standards expected by and relevant to the creative industries, and therefore, should provide students with the work, confidence and experience to become employable within the profession, or to progress on to further study.
Portfolio development, CV preparation and interview practice will form the basis of taught sessions, with an emphasis on collaboration, enterprise and entrepreneurial activity. Content will be delivered by subject specialists, and supported by the Careers Service. This module will be made up of lectures, workshops and tutorial led sessions.
