Module Aims

To enable the student to attain a skill set to function with proficiency and develop a growing confidence within the practice learning environment

Content Summary

The content of this module will be applied across all four fields of nursing. The module will explore the following themes:

Introduction to the Practice Assessment documentation and application to fields of practice.

Preparation for practice based learning – expectations and requirements of Part 1 of the programme

Reflective practice

Working effectively with Practice Supervisors and Assessors

Safeguarding and the implications across different client groups.

The safe administration of medicines including safe medicate

Introduction to communication and relationship management skills

Introduction to nursing procedural skills as identified in Annex B of the NMC (2018) Standards of proficiency for registered nurses.

Raising and escalating concerns

In point Assessments and preparation for in point assessment 1: Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating person centred care in the context of relevant field of practice.

Principles of lifelong learning
