To enable the student to critically appraise their performance and demonstrate proficiency for registration.

The content of this module will be applied across all fields of practice. The module will explore the following themes:

An overview of practice requirements and assessment for Part 3 of the programme as detailed in the Practice Assessment Document
Preparation for In point assessments 3 and 4

Outline of standards to support student supervision, learning and assessment

Developing the skills to be a practice supervisor
Supervising, supporting and learning in the context of field of practice

Preparation for Practice Learning – the role of a student

Leading, managing and co-ordinating care in the context of field of practice

Consolidation of communication and relationship management skills and nursing procedural skills in accordance with Annex A and B in the NMC (2018) proficiencies

Importance of raising and escalating concerns and leading others to do so

Influencing others and acting as a role model and instilling the values of the Code (2018)

Critical reflection and analysis on personal achievement and future development

Enhancing nursing procedural skills

Transition to practice

Upholding the principles of life-long learning and development

Accountability regarding levels of knowledge, skill, performance and professionalism

Being prescriber ready, the implications of safe effective management of medicines
