This module aims to develop an awareness of the business environment in which accounting operates and the skills needed in order to thrive in this environment.

Corporate governance

Role of the accountant in business

Focus will be given to developing the following skills during the module and assessment:

Creativity

Entrepreneurial skills.

The immersive learning project will involve other modules to start integrated thinking and reduce the number of assessments. The project will be a live brief to start building commercial awareness and students will research real organisations to apply subject knowledge.
