Module Aims

This module aims to prepare students, both academically and practically, for the role of independent and supplementary prescribing. To facilitate the student’s development of knowledge, skills and professionalism to prescribe competently within the context of their area of practice and in accordance with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Competency Framework for Prescribers and NMC standards for prescribing.

Content Summary

The content of the module reflects the development and attainment of prescribing competency as outlined in the document entitled “A Competency Framework for all Prescribers” (RPS, 2021).

During the module students address the content to develop their knowledge and skills to facilitate them working towards and achieving the competencies outlined in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (2021) Competency Framework for all Prescribers.
