Module Aims

Instil a sense of ethical responsibility as designers in relation to people, places, and resources.
Develop awareness of the diverse needs and concerns of society and the role that art and design might play in relation to these.
Enable students to reflect upon what, how, and why they design, taking social and environmental concerns into consideration.

Content Summary

Students will explore ways in which designers respond to environmental, social, and ethical issues in society through creative practice. This will enable students to reflect upon their own practice and to consider the practical effects and symbolic implications of their design work.
