Module Aims

Equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to run live Interior Design projects.
Introduce students to the key Building Regulations and RIBA Plan of Work Stages relative to Interior Design projects and to ‘test run’ students’ understanding of these by aligning them with their own practice.
Examine ethics and the codes of ethics relevant to interior and architectural professional practice.
Enable students to reflect on their existing skillset in relation to their career goals and personal aspirations and to devise strategies to bridge any gaps.
Develop the student’s professional profile as an Interior Designer.

Content Summary

On this module, students will engage with wider issues relating to the Interior Design industry, including professional requirements and ethical standards. Students will undertake a series of tasks relating to the RIBA Plan of Work Stages and refer to the BIID and other relevant codes of conduct. This serves to develop ethical professionalism, as well as time and project management skills.

This module will facilitate students’ personal development planning through the delivery of the key skills identified below in the module descriptor.
