Module Aims

This module aims to provide a stronger link between a degree apprentice and their employer, by means of a role specific industry based short project.

Content Summary

This module will see a company specific project for each degree apprentice agreed between the employer, the apprentice and the subject specialist supervisor at the university.

The project will be formally proposed to the Module Leader by means of a learning agreement, with its scope and appropriateness for the course appraised before commencement. This agreement would be aligned to the requirements of the university, including any ethical considerations or privacy/confidentiality arrangements that need to be in place.

The project would focus upon an aspect of the role of the apprentice within their organisation, providing them the opportunity to further develop their understanding of their company and to apply newly developed skills and project management to a real situation or problem.

This would also see the opportunity for the apprentice to appraise and plan for their own personal development and identify any skills gaps that need to be addressed.
