Module Aims

• Introduce students to a range of practical and theoretical approaches to the creation of audiovisual material.
• Enable students to develop basic technical skills and operational competencies in using a variety of digital video equipment including craft skills in camera operation, sound recording, and editing (images & sounds).
• Develop interpersonal and communication skills necessary for collaborative teamwork and industry employability in the film industry.

Content Summary

Students participate in a series of practical workshops, engaging with technical exercises involving the use of cameras, lights, sound recording equipment, and post production editing software.

The content will be presented in rotations through camera and lighting, sound recording and editing, film editing and post-production, and technical instruction on the variety of filmmaking equipment available to the students at this level.
