Module Aims

To develop an understanding of legislative and governmental functions and be able to identify the key terms that describe them.

To develop an understanding of the skills and knowledge required for the effective communication of information relating to legislative and government functions.

Content Summary

The module will introduce students to the basic concepts and theories with which to develop an understanding how government and politics works. It will explore the institutions and functions of central UK, devolved and local government and explore the role of journalists in communicating information about those roles and functions.
