Module Aims

• Enable students to acquire and demonstrate specialised knowledge within a particular area of film and media.
• Provide students with an opportunity to undertake an extended piece of advanced, independent research within a particular area of film and media.
• Enable students to explore the range of critical and theoretical debates surrounding a particular area of film and media.

Content Summary

This module offers the opportunity for in-depth study of a film (or related media) topic, leading to an extended piece of individual research firmly rooted within a theoretical perspective.
Students will agree a field of study with a named supervisor and attend regular, tailored, supervision sessions across the module.
Additionally, a programme of Dissertation lectures and workshops will assist students in generating and developing ideas, determining research methodologies, reviewing literature, and developing communication skills.
