• Enable the student to undertake a research project in a subject negotiated with the Module Leader/Team,
• Build upon critical, analytical and evaluative skills developed in years 1 and 2.
• Present their practice-based findings in written form.
• Develop organisational and time management skills,

Content Summary

The module offers students an opportunity to conduct an independent practice as research enquiry and critically repor on the experience and practical outcomes. They will be supported through a lecture and seminar programme in the following areas: 

  • Developing an enquiry suitable for practice as research. 

  • Developing practice and theory-based research skills appropriate to individual enquiries. 

  • Overview of formal academic practice in an appropriate format. 

  • Discussion and evaluation of previous examples and key works. A series of individual tutorials will also support the study.
