Module Aims

To enable students to gain an appreciation of how their skills may be applied to the engineering discipline. Students will be given opportunity to meet Industry-leading experts.

Content Summary

In this module you will:

Develop knowledge surrounding the transition to university including accessing online resources such as Blackboard and the library services as well as an introduction to referencing and plagiarism

Gain an appreciation of the engineering disciplines with an insight into engineers of the world

Develop and understanding of engineering skills from the perspective of both the engineer and the employer including problem solving and teamwork

Be introduced to the USW graduate attributes and how these can be applied to the engineering discipline

Have the opportunity to meet and engage with industry-leading experts

Reflect upon existing skills and identify areas for improvement
