Module Aims

This module is designed to demonstrate through a practical research how either (or both) qualitative and quantitative methods can be applied to the development and empirical examination of phenomena, problems, propositions and/or hypothesis across a range of management fields.

Content Summary

On completion of the module, students should be able to:
- Identify potential research topics from existing journal papers
- Develop theoretical models and testable hypotheses/ conceptual models.
- Use qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, develop and construct latent and proxy measures for variables.
- Develop and design practical research operationalisations, including population identification, sampling, instrument design, development, testing, and administration
- Select appropriate statistical/ qualitative analyses to test/ understand data
- Develop and draft a paper for submission to a scholarly journal
