Module Aims

For students to bring together in a coherent and visible whole the results of practical prototyping and theoretical work in order to produce a professional outcome.

Content Summary

This module aims to consolidate prior learning in order to provide an opportunity for the student to demonstrate a high level of skill and understanding through the production and presentation of a negotiated final major collection appropriate to the students’ chosen area of specialist practice.

This project provides an opportunity for students to integrate their creativity, contextualisation and communication skills. Further, it allows students to demonstrate their technical ability, knowledge, understanding and conceptual maturity in the production of a comprehensive project.

The agreed project will conform to the guidelines that the student will receive at the outset of the module. In general terms it should be sufficiently comprehensive in scope to provide the student with the opportunity to expand and challenge their ideas, and yet realistic enough to be completed within the term timetable.

The final project should demonstrate a high level of skill and understanding and conform to standards of presentation expected within the area of specialist practice.
