Module Aims

This module will provide students with a sound basis of knowledge in the fundamentals, language and application for visual effects and motion design.
Introduce students to the principles of effective matte creation for isolating elements of a filmed plate as well as introducing the relationship between sound and effective visual motion design.

Content Summary

Matte creation through the process and techniques of rotoscoping to isolate parts of the moving image to then manipulate or mask additional elements composited through the visual effects process.
Development of an understating of the relationship between sound an image in Motion Design, especially in an experimental form, in relation to sounds and shapes, colour, and movement.
