Module Aims
Strength and Conditioning coaches are responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of athletic development programmes for a range of athletes, over extended periods of time. This requires the development of effective planning and management systems. The module will provide the student with the required knowledge, skill and competence to be able to design, plan lead and manage a working strength and conditioning programme.
Content Summary
The module will consider the need to plan and manage programmes and the underpinning philosophies required to carry this out effectively.
It will evaluate the need for periodised programmes and identify key indicators of performance within these programmes. Additionally, it will look at the pre-requisites for effective management of the programme. Systems will be introduced that expand upon these concepts and provide students with the means to develop effective planning management programmes
At the core of the module will be the development of a system via which the student will manage the training and monitoring of their own athletes’ performance.
