Module Aims
To enable students to develop subject specific practical production and/or technical skills
To enable students to begin to understand how their practical skills might be applicable to a work place environment
To develop critical and reflexive skills pertinent to the subject area studied
Content Summary
This module enables students to apply their previously acquired skills to a work place scenario
A guest lecturer from a relevant creative industry will set a practical project relevant to that industry and to the students chosen specialism, which students will complete normally within an educational environment, supported by their tutor
The guest lecturer will have limited further input – to feed back on work in progress and the final outcome. Throughout the module, students will be encouraged to critically reflect on their own practical work and will be introduced to relevant theories and professional practices
In the case of students in full time relevant employment, the module can be completed in the workplace, with guidance from the tutor and attendance at key seminars
