Module Aims

To introduce students to the various technologies they will work with on the course.
To develop foundation skills with these technologies and explore how they inform and contribute to the creative process.
To develop students’ technical competency and connect technical skills with creative procedures and professional practice.
To create, capture, manipulate and present live, audio and visual material.
To explore the mutually supportive relationship between technical skills and aesthetic practices.

Content Summary

Students will be taught how to use lighting and sound equipment, digital audio/video recorders/cameras and associated editing suites and playback technologies.
Opportunity to apply this learning creatively will be given through the provision of technical design and support for other production work on the course.
The module will also include sessions introducing and exploring the relationship between technology, live performance, screen performance and audio performance.
