Module Aims

• Develop a coherent and detailed knowledge of the causes of poor learning behaviour in settings
• Analyse strategies used to manage learning behaviours in the classroom and in the setting as a whole

Content Summary

• Critical understanding of definition of learning behaviour
• Theoretical and critical understanding of causes for poor learning behaviour and the strategies used to promote good learning behaviour
• Examination of the role of leadership in promoting good learning behaviours in settings
• Critical analysis of self-esteem, self –efficacy and self-concept.
• Exploration of emotional regulation in babies and young children
• Examination of gender and how it impacts behaviour and learning
• Exploration of barriers to good learning behaviour experienced by children with ALN and SENDA
• Group work – policy creation
