Module Aims

To introduce students to the assessment of range of movement, manual muscle testing and palpation.

To develop a working knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and pathology.

Content Summary

In this module students will study:-

Principles of tissue failure and generic tissue healing processes.

Gross anatomy including osteology, myology, ligaments and joints.

Application of osteology and joints to active and passive ranges of motion, and their assessment.

Application of myology to the clinical assessment of manual muscle testing.

Common musculoskeletal injuries to the peripheral and spinal joints.
