Module Aims

To embed Graduate Sports Therapy skills into 200 hours of supervised clinical practice
To appraise current strengths and weaknesses, develop a clear training needs analysis and career planning
To challenge students understanding of clinical competence, continuing professional development and lifelong learning

Content Summary

In this module students will study:-

Training needs analysis & SWOT analysis
Career planning
Creating E-Portfolio’s
Job searching
Applying for roles
The interview process
Internal and external supervised clinical placement
Maintaining clinical competence and the need for ongoing continuing professional development
Contemporary treatment modalities including electrotherapeutic modalities (e.g. TENS, NMES, TUS)

Students must attend more than 80% of the module to complete the practical assessment

This module is the immersive learning module at level 6.

LO3 Develop a method of recording clinical experiences, continuing professional development and reflective practice suitable for placement providers, prospective employers and professional body audit.
