Module Aims
This module will provide a detailed analysis of the political and policy context in which Welsh health and social care organisations operate, including an analysis of the Welsh context, UK and international influences.
Content Summary
Content would include a critical discussion of:
• Health and social care politics, policy and administration, including the origins of UK public policy and public service values
• policymaking processes, influences, implementation and evaluation, including EBPM, public engagement and different ways of measuring outcomes
• the evolution of health policy in the UK, including examples of other health systems and funding mechanisms using political and economic constructs.
• global contemporary health challenges
• Welsh policy responses to current health and social care challenges, including key policies, legislation and the Welsh Government’s agenda:
o the Well-being of Future Generations Act
o Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act
o Healthier Wales Action Plan
