Module Aims

To provide students with competence in the close reading, analysis and understanding of narrative structures in literary, media and visual texts.

Content Summary

Students will study a selection of texts from the fields of media, novels, drama and journalism. A range of analytical approaches to the study of such texts will be taught including genre, structure, themes, stylistic conventions and audiences.
Students will be given the opportunity to create texts aimed at audiences in a variety of literary, media, and image-based formats.
