Module Aims

The aim of this module is to prepare students for the linguistic challenges of the credit-bearing International Foundation Programme. Students on the 3-term IFP require additional support with English language and this module aims to ensure that learners have reached an appropriate level of ability and confidence in their language skills so as to embark on the IFP with the best possible chance of completing the course successfully.

Content Summary

The module focuses on the development of academic vocabulary and grammatical structures and aims to enhance students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The module also aims to enhance students’ use of functional language through the completion of a group video project based around a current UK issue.
