Module Aims

Introduce students to a UX approach to problem solving.

Develop skills and understanding in UX methods and apply them to a real-world scenario.

Explore and understand how UX design is being utilised across a variety of economic sectors.

Content Summary

User Experience Design is all about creating better services and products for users, both digital and physical. It looks at the entire process a user takes of interacting with a service or product and considers all elements that form the user experience. By mapping and understanding the lifecycle of our products and systems then identifying user problems throughout, we can improve things (big and small) to create a better overall experience for users.

Throughout the module, students will learn the foundations of User Experience Design and how the techniques and processes can be used to shape how people interact with businesses and organisations.

Students will be presented with case studies from across a range of projects and industries, learning what can make a successful solution and how UX design processes have been used to achieve them.

To complete this module, students will apply their knowledge and understanding of UX to a digital transformation project within their host organisation or within their sector.
