Assessment, and management of acute physical health problems and sudden deterioration during the childbirth continuum including, but not limited to, sepsis, pre-eclampsia, thromboembolic disorders and maternal collapse.
Understanding the potential impact of emerging complications on the childbearing individual’s health and wellbeing.
Recognising and managing complications that may arise, using appropriate assessments such as Early Warning Scores and an ABCDEF approach to assessment. The PROMPT approach will be utilised. Obstetric ALERT.
Understanding the roles of the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team and developing the ability to work seamlessly with all those involved in maternity care.
