Module Aims

• To introduce the student to a specialist area (Hair, Make-Up and Special Effects or Prop Making) within its historical, social and cultural context. To introduce the student to the relationship between theory and practice within the relevant specialist area.
• To develop study and research skills in communication, presentation and evaluation skills, in oral and written form
• To provide an opportunity to realise the research project undertaken and utilise the development skills learned in the introduction workshops from Introduction to Production Arts Skills

Content Summary

Students will be introduced to the relevant Creative Industry specialist areas within a historical and cultural context. Using a variety of sources, the student will then select an aspect of a specialism to produce a final realised outcome. Through investigation into specified historical periods, the student will develop research skills that will be presented in both written, oral and practical form.
