Module Aims

• This module allows the student to pursue an individual research project of their choice, drawing upon and developing skills appropriate to their specialism.
• Enable the student to research and develop ideas related to a theme. Students should be able to convey design intentions through verbal and visual communication.
• Enable the student to produce a final realised outcome(s)

Content Summary

This is an independent research project, where students will have the opportunity to select a topic of their choosing, developing ideas and produce a final realised outcome. This could take the form of an existing historical artefact, an item from an original text or artwork, or costume prop etc.

Primary sources are expected to be re-imagined through the design and development process, so creating an outcome significantly different, yet sympathetic to the original.

Student projects will be facilitated through supervised practical classes and workshops.

Project outcomes must be fit-for-purpose and meet industry standards.
