Module Aims

· To investigate the working principles involved in starting and running a small business or working as a freelancer
· To provide the student with the necessary presentation and communication skills to succeed in a small business or as a freelancer

Content Summary

Understand the workings of employment in the 'real' world. Large and small scale operations. The production team.

Understanding the economic procedures for running and managing a business or working as a freelancer. Self- employment, tax etc.

Marketing and self-promotion. Creating a corporate identity including CV, business card, website etc. Understanding the skills required fo interview will be honed and developed through workshops' and mock interviews with industry professionals.
