Module Aims

The aim of this module is to provide an opportunity for students to work creatively with each other, on a short 6-week practical project that has a ‘real world’ industrial brief. The module aims to provide students with an understanding of how to plan, prepare and execute an event of their choosing, that incorporates a range of Multimedia Technologies within its production.

Students are to be responsible for all phases of the event from its planning through performance, to the production of a physical and/or digital artefact.

The module is based on the model of a client/production company relationship, where performance students work with production students in a creative partnership.

Content Summary

Planning and preparation for performance and production will equip students to formulate groups and identify the nature of the creative project to be undertaken.

Once groups are established, students discuss how Multimedia Technology can be utilised within both the creative process and the final performance of the project.

In addition to meeting on a regular basis, production groups will identify times to rehearse together when necessary – ensuring the highest possible standards for the final performance.

Production: Once the final performance is prepared, visuals and audio will be recorded, then produced in a cohesive presentable and/or industry standard format.

Reflection: A critical weekly reflective blog which evaluates the relative success of the event/product will be documented by all students.

This module contains a six-week immersive learning element.
