Module Aims

To develop and improve students’ skill sets in the area of high-level live performance planning and resolution. Advanced individual, collaborative, performance, presentation and reflective abilities will be implemented, with the following aims of:

Identifying areas for development and implementing solutions for such, leading to the enhancement of individual expertise and collaboration skills.

Critical assessment of personal and peer performance in regard to high-level industry standards.

Producing performance work and organizational standards that will allow a pathway into the relevant area of the music industry.

Content Summary

Students will investigate, through performance workshops, on-going formative assessments and self-directed study, the following areas:

Delivery of technically and visually accomplished performances.

The differing contexts that a professional practitioner needs to successfully navigate.

Awareness of market expectations and the identification of audience demands in the planning and delivery of a live performance.

Critical analysis of performance techniques, communication skills, and collaborative requirements.

Timely and effective resolution to unforeseen performance situations.
