Module Aims

The module will provide a basis for study for students to:

1. develop their knowledge and skills in the area of employment law and practice; and
2. put the knowledge and skills that have been learned into practice through practical exercises based on case scenarios

Content Summary

The module will examine the following areas:

• Employment status
• The contract of employment
• Termination of the contract of employment
• Family friendly rights
• Equality Act 2010
• Transfer of a business or part of a business from one organisation to another (TUPE)
• Whistleblowing
• The rules and procedures relating to the Employment Tribunal
